autumnal skies

red sky at night

the fens are notorious for their big skies and it is true to say it is one of it’s redeeming features.

but the skies are never as good as they are at this time of year when the colours line up with the leaves on the trees and signal the real changes of autumn.

our daily walks, when we are lucky enough to escape here, are early as the sun is coming up and later as it goes down so we tend to see it at it’s best.

not to disappoint, the crispness and sunshine this weekend, have combined to deliver some more beauties to compete with the splendour of the local bonfires and firework displays.

I never get sick of these sights and no amount of photography can do them justice or capture the subtle changes that occur over a few minutes.

you just want to be able to bottle it!!!
